Raya is an iconic heritage restaurant on Dibuk Road, near the old Phuket town, famous for serving delicious Phuket specialities
Raya House was founded by aunty Kuhlaap (Kuhlaap means ‘Rose’) in 1994. She is a cooking icon of local Phuket food.
The talk of the town dish at Raya here would be ‘Kaeng Poo Kanom Jeen’, delicious crab meat with betel leaves in a yellow coconut curry. It’s creamy, smooth, with full flavours from all spices and a touch of herb from betel leaves. There are, of course, many other signature dishes that you should try.
The restaurant is a 2 story house more than 100 years old – Sino-Portuguese style. It’s warm, cosy, classic, bright, and feels like home decorating. Here you can enjoy local Phuket food and enjoy the beautiful architecture as well.
